- varied chamber music with an emphasis on string quartets.

Chamber Music Concerts

The Venue

- Chamber Music concerts are are held in the Pittville Pump Room, visually and acoustically one of the finest small concert halls in the country, with plenty of free parking, and a licensed bar.

- Contemporary Concerts will be given in the Prince Michael Hall, Dean Close School.

Ticket booking

To purchase seats for the whole series, please apply to the Membership Secretary using the Series Ticket Application Form. This will give over 30% discount on ticket prices. Purchasers become members of the Society and from the 2016-17 series, in place of tickets, we are issuing a membership card for each seat purchased, showing seat number for the series. Please remember to bring membership cards for admission to the concerts.


For priority booking, please add a donation of at least £10 per person. The Society relies on members’ donations to maintain the quality of its programmes.

The priority booking period runs until 3 August and the non-priority booking period continues to 30 August after which series seats can no longer be purchased via the Membership Secretary.

Seat allocation starts on 4 July but membership cards for non-priority bookings will not be sent out until the end of the priority booking period.

Tickets for individual concerts can be purchased from 31 August at the Town Hall Box Office (tel:0844 576 2210) or at the Pump Room ticket office on the day of the concert.

Contemporary Concerts at Prince Michael Hall

Members subscribing for the Chamber Music series at the Pump Room can buy tickets for both concerts for a total of £15 using the application form.

Individual tickets cost £10 and can be purchased at the door. Tickets for those under 26 are free.

Aged 8-25?

You can obtain FREE tickets, thanks to support from the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust. Just mention CAVATINA when booking. These must be purchased in person at the Town Hall box office or at the door.

Since giving their debut concert at the Bishopsgate Institute for the City of London Chamber Music Society in January 2014 the Pomegranate Piano Trio, formed of Fenella Barton (violin), cellist Rebecca Hepplewhite (nee Hewes) and Andrew West (piano), has quickly established a reputation for fine performances at venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Wiener Musikverein, La Salle Cortot, Paris, the Purcell Room, Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Recognized for his powerful and expressive sound and exceptional musicality, classical guitarist Andrey Lebedev has defined himself as an artist pushing the boundaries of the instrument and gaining acknowledgment from new audiences. In 2012 he won both the Australian National Fine Music Young Performers Award and the Sydney Eisteddfod NSW Doctors Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship, in both cases the only classical guitarist to receive this award.
