Like every small concert hall in the country, the Pittville Pump Room has been called "the most acoustically beautiful small concert hall in the country". That is perhaps somewhat hyperbolic, but chamber music can work wonderfully well in this elegant space. It is an 1820s assembly room which boasts lovely Regency pillars, plaster-work and chandeliers, plentiful parking, ample iron railings to which bicycles can be locked, and a bar. You can drink the spa water here, but it tastes even worse than that at Bath.
